Pokémon Goes Platinum At Nintendo World

It's been a while since the last big Nintendo launch, but as usual, New York City's Nintendo World store is going to be ground zero when Pokémon Platinum launches on Saturday, March 21. This is one day before the DS title's actual release date of March 22, so if you're a Pokéfan and in the area, you can swing by to pick up a copy and be the envy of all your friends! Heck, if you're one of the first people in line for the game, you might be randomly selected to receive a copy of Pokémon Platinum signed by the game's producer, Junichi Masuda and director, Takeshi Kawachimaru!
The game will go on sale at 11am, and from 12-4pm, Rockefeller Plaza will be full of interactive game demos, costumed character photo ops (I want my photo taken with Mudkip!), giveaways and showings of the newest Pokémon movie, Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior. Nintendo is also encouraging fans to come dressed as their favorite Pokémon, because if you do, you may qualify to participate in what they're calling the "Pokémon Platinum Plunge." This means you'll have the chance to dive into a 10-foot vat of balls to win Pokémon Platinum games and exclusive Giratina-branded Nintendo DS systems.
I'll definitely be there documenting the insanity, although I will tell you now there's no way you could pay me enough money to show up in costume, not even for a chance to win a free copy of the game. In fact, I'm not even sure I'm even that interested in playing Pokémon anymore. I feel like I got my fill with the first few games, and since they're always the same, I don't see the point anymore. Of course, I've said that before, and still gotten sucked back in, so we'll see how well my willpower does this time!

Hahaha
I wouldn't get dressed up either, and yea, though the games have always been the same, it is really easy to get hooked for a time...and then drop the game...but then you find it again and start playing. I'm looking forward to the event though! I really want to stop by.
Also, I think "ground zero" is a bit...of an untouchable phrase, if you will.
No worries :D
I'm so there...but not in costume.
It kinda makes me angry at myself that despite how much I'll whine about this being exactly the same as all the other games, I'm still gonna buy it.
I've been so psyched all month; if my Gamer Pride isn't able to salve my guilty Poke-pleasure, then what is it used for? There is no deeper shame and no great joy than hipster-eschewed childhood gaming.
And darn all you guys who get it a day early! Going in costume is a small price to pay for 24 full hours of advanced-awesome. :P
Take photos!
No costumes? You people are wack!
I am no where near New York, but I might see if I can get my cosplaying friends to make me a Pokemon costume. Well Pokemon or Fallout…
Hey there, no photo credit for a fellow gay nerd website? That Poke-cosplay photo is from GeekanerdBlog.com's coverage of NY ComicCon...original here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/geekanerd/3264247568/in/set-72157602118272560/
Also, you said "dive into a vat of balls". Hehnheh.
