Listorama: Top 25 Worst Comic Book Video Games

While movies based on comic books come in and out of fashion regularly, stories involving tights and fights have always been part of the gaming experience. While these games have the potential to be some of the best games around, there's been more than a few that have the ability to strike more fear into the hearts of true believers than Venom on "bad symbiote" day. With this spirit in mind, GameDaily put together a list of the 25 worst comic book video games. Just like any other countdown, there are a few questionable entries (Batman: Revenge of the Joker on Genesis wasn't that bad) but most of the list has a ring of truth to it. Oddly, the biggest offender on the list in my mind, the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game on NES, only ranks in at #11. I may not have played Catwoman, or Aquaman: Battle For Atlantis yet, surely the Turtles' first outing deserves to be up a little higher on the list. Just thinking about that damn dam level sends me into a conniption fit of early childhood infused nerd rage.
Other notable inclusions on the list include the absolutely atrocious 16-bit versions of Batman Forever (featured on 1up's Broken Pixels), the latest Spiderman 3 movie tie-in, and a special "this should have been much better" shout out to the 16-bit versions of The Tick. To think of what could have been if those characters found the right developer... *sigh* Anyone have the number for Telltale Games?
Is there a not-so-special comic book title that didn't make the list? Do you dare defend that awful TMNT game? Shout it out in the comments!

Oh, jeez. That image just sent me into fits, having spent way too much of my childhood trying to negotiate those accursed kelps.
Well, back to therapy.
damn you TMNT NES game!!!
The dam isn't too bad now as an adult. As a kid though, the most impossible thing ever.
I had so much more trouble on the Technodrome level than that dam level.
TMNT NES was awesome! In fact I only played it to jump off the bridge and diffuse the bombs. That was my favorite part... Harumph.
That was one of my favorite games as a kid. The dam was brutal but getting through the Technodrome and fighting Shredder was hell. One hit kills are not cool.
the dam wasn't that bad. navigating the warehouses and airport as a kid? THAT was rough.
still, FAR from the crap that a lot of those other titles are.
I too liked the TNMT game, a lot better than their fighting games imho.
I owned the horrible
Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge
for SNES
To be fair, the Aquaman game was so bad that X-play named their worst-video-game awards for it: the Golden Mullets.
Yeah, Superman 64 truly earned the #1 spot. How that ever went to press is beyond me. As for TMNT, never beat that damn.....dam as a kid. I should go back and beat it one of these days.
