GameStop Hosts DSi LA Launch Bonanza
You all saw the madness that surrounded Nintendo's launch of the newest Pokémon game, so can you imagine the insanity that will ensue when they launch their latest console? That's right, Nintendo is planning a blowout midnight launch for the upcoming DSi handheld on April 4 at GameStop's Universal CityWalk location in Los Angeles, CA.
In addition to being able to be one of the first to get your sweaty hands on the red-hot DSi, gamers will be able to enjoy personalized giveaways from videogame art group I Am 8-Bit, music by VJ Fader with manipulated video displayed on a giant 360-degree projection globe, interactive gaming stations, parkour street running stunt performances, and Nintendo exec Cammie Dunaway and the tasty Kevin Periera of G4 fame leading the countdown to midnight.
Unfortunately, being based on the East coast means I'm not going to be able to enjoy the festivities, and one of the residents of the Western wing of the Gay Gamer castle will have to let you know how it all goes down. Too bad, too, because I'd love to see the parkour performances — that sounds awesome!
