A Boy and His Blob Revisited: For The Wii!

boyblob.jpg

One of my favorite games form the 80s was A Boy and His Blob for the NES. Sure it was buggy, the gameplay was a little repetitive and that damn song is still drilled deep into my subconscious... Doot, doot, Doot, doot, Dootdoot DOOOOOOOOOO! Anyway, I liked breaking it, and when I wasn't breaking it the game was pretty darn fun. I still like the jellybean that the blob would not eat.

Now, WayForward technologies has took on the ambitious task of recreating this game. The developers are well versed in this field, having already tackled Contra 4 for the DS, and are moving on to the "reengineering" of the title. This includes pretty much means that they've gutted the entire game. It is no longer one really long adventure, and is now an adventure consisting of 40+ shorter adventures. Kinda sad that they are kinda scaling it back in that respect, but I can respect their decision. The original was a bit of a challenge to play.

Now, as a fan of this series, I will be burning down their studio if they screw it up. You've been forewarned. That includes you John Sensebe.

Oh my goodness, that looks nice. I barely remember playing it (having spent my entire childhood securely riveted to the original Zelda series), but now I am starting to rue not having purchased a wii.

I used to love this game too, but try playing it now. If you still think it's a good game you may want to take off those rose coloured glasses.

When you say screw up, i think if they made it the same it would be absolutely terrible. It's more of a matter if they can cater to nostalgia as it needs to be updated and made allot more playable.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
