Video: Happy Dance Collection Is Fabulous!
This is a rather long trailer for the Nintendo Wii game Happy Dance Collection, and while it seems to have a story element to it, I don't speak Japanese, so I can't tell you what the hell the story might possibly be. Though I'm pretty sure the girl with scary eyes and snakes for hair is probably bad. Just a guess.
What I do understand is that this game is full of jpop goodness, and while it may lead off with a female performer, boys are also included. Cute boys! And you can play dress up with them! Sure, the choreography-based gameplay looks child-like and simple, and maybe that's deceptive, but who cares? You can go shopping for new clothes to dress up your cute boy! Fabulous!

OMG i would buy a wii for this game.
... I would "make the mistake" (as we have taken to calling it at my store) for a THIRD TIME for this game.
Those who know me on this site know I work at a Gamestop, and EVERY ONE of the employees at my store have owned Wiis. I've owned TWO. And EVERY ONE of us has gotten sick of it and traded it back in for whatever reason. Thus, "making the mistake."
The sad truth is that this game will NEVER come to America. Even in this time of shovelware and crap, where Calvin Tucker's Redneck Jamboree (an actual game, we've sold two of them)can get made, Happy Dance Collection will never get localized. Or, if it does, they'll slap a Disney font on it and you'll be Hannah Montana.

Personally this seems lame. A lot of times people will forgive Japanese shovelware just because it's japanese. Because it's a Japanese Hannah Montana doesn't make it any better.
Sort of like the kind of people who go apeshit for any Jpop band, but waggle their fingers at Britney Spears for being 'too mainstream'.
omg. there's a mode with no arrows on screen. I need this game. Since I skipped out on DDR for Wii, this should more than make up for it! Honestly, I might import it or something. It looks like one of those games that might actually make me a happier person when I play it.
omg checkered mini shorts and pom pom knee socks..i am going nuts. can i buy those (used) shorts in a tokyo vending machine? oh wait, the girl is like 12. too bad i didn't patent my arm waving dance moves....i'd be a millionaire.
