Video: Escape From City 17 - Part One
If you've logged into Steam recently, you'll have noticed Valve giving a shout-out to Purchase Brothers. A pair of brothers that normally do commercials, who have done a Half-Life 2 fan-film. Using resources from the game and some guerilla style shooting work, they've made 2 episodes of this for $500.
Part one is above, part two is apparently still being edited. The blending of in-game assets and live action is amazingly well done, as are the costumes. If Valve was smart they'd pump some money into this and make a whole series of webisodes based on it, because it makes me REALLY want a Half-Life movie now.
Please be aware that being based on a shooter, there is some violence in this clip and it's not suitable for young kids.
