San Francisco Playstation Store Closing This Summer
Sony Fanboys, you only have a few months left to visit one of your gaming mecca. Sony has announced that when the lease expires at their Metreon Playstation Store location, they're not going to renew it.
While we are always looking at new avenues for additional retail exposure and space, we felt it best not to continue with a dedicated PlayStation Store at the Metreon at this time.
Note that this closure does not mean that Sony is going to abandon their many Sony Style stores around the country, so far they're only closing their retail presence at the Metreon. The Playstation Store, the only such store in North America, often hosted big launch parties for games and consoles, so we'll have to see if someplace else emerges as the de facto Sony launch location. I'm also curious if they get their security deposit back after filling all the nail holes in the walls with toothpaste.
