Pre-Registration For PAX 2009 Now Open

Over in his webcomic's blog, Jerry "Tycho" Holkins announced the opening of preregistration for this years Penny Arcade Expo.

Five years ago, it was our goal to create a convention that recognized gaming as a cultural event. We hoped that people would respond to it, but we could never have anticipated the depth of that hunger. There is a lot of hunger.

The next PAX takes place in Seattle, from September 4th to the 6th. We would be overjoyed if you could attend.

Specifically, the convention will be held at Washington State Convention & Trade Center. Pre-registration prices are $30 per day, or $50 for a three day badge.

The Penny Arcade Expo, or PAX, started in 2004 with an attendance of around 3,300. Last year almost 60,000 visitors bought tickets to the event, which included panels, game demonstrations, concerts, and more. There is also an East Coast PAX in the works, taking place March, 2010, in Boston, MA.

Despite living in Seattle and already looking forward to this year's PAX, I have to say there is something tempting about travelling to Boston in 2010 to go to PAX East too.

Yes, I'll be at PAX09 for sure but I'm curious to visit the east coast for Boston PAX 2010. This past PAX was pretty intense with the amount of attendee's.
