Official: DSi Launching On April 5th

A while back it was rumored that the Nintendo DSi would be coming stateside in April, and it looks like the for once the rumors were right. Nintendo has officially announced that the DSi will be launching in the US on April 5th for the price of $169.99. In an interesting twist the DSi will launch in two colors, black and blue, with the iconic white strangely absent.
For those out of the know, the DSi sports a number of features over the current DS Lite. The main draw of the system is the built-in camera, well actually two built-in cameras, with one on the inside hinge and one on the outside of the system. The cameras allow you to take pictures and edit them with included photo editing software, or it could be used in games like an Eyetoy (which the downloadable WarioWare game in Japan already does). There's also an SD card slot on the DSi which can store pictures or allow you to use the system as an MP3 player. However with these new features is also the loss of the GBA slot, so take that into consideration with your purchase.
All I have to say is, thank you Nintendo. Releasing the DSi on my birthday is an excellent idea, April 5th is the best day of the year after all. My current DS Lite has gotten quite a bit of use over the years and the touchscreen is starting to show some wear and tear. Now if only I could convince someone to get me one as a present.

Damn, so much for Europe getting this ahead of you! :-p
Oh well, we can't be far behind [or ahead - I hope].
I'll be holding off getting my DS' replacement until some good games come out though anyway. *shrugs*
Ohhhh the blue is prettttyyyyy
This is smexy.
April the 5th is my birthday too, awesome :)
