EA Announces Wii Exclusive: Dead Space Extraction

An all-new heroine, story and characters will be extending the Dead Space universe this Fall when Dead Space Extraction ships for the Wii. The just-announced prequel from EA Redwood Shores will reveal events that took place on the Aegis VII mining colony before Isaac Clarke and the crew from Dead Space showed up to save the USG Ishimura, as a few scrappy colonists flee the beginnings of the alien infection that set the events of Dead Space in motion.
A Wii exclusive, Dead Space Extraction will enjoy all-new controls, weapons, and co-op multiplayer:
"We could not be more excited to extend Dead Space into an experience exclusive to the Wii. Nintendo has a wonderful history in the horror genre and we are thrilled to build on that tradition with Dead Space Extraction," said Glen Schofield, VP and General Manager of EA Redwood Shores studio. "As we were developing Dead Space, we realized that there was so much of the story going untold. Dead Space Extraction tells that story with all of the intensity, blood and gore that fans would expect."
As a side note, isn't it interesting how the Wii seems to be building a library of exclusive spin-offs? The Wii and the DS, neither one of which is a powerhouse of cutting-edge technology, end up scoring exclusive prequels and sequels from Dead Rising to Guitar Hero to GTA to Dead Space. That's gotta tickle Reggie & co.

While I love my Wii for the few games I would play on it...I'm tired of these Wii games coming out...they're usually much uglier...less fun and honestly...I feel a little bitter towards Nintendo for all but dropping the hardcore gaming fans.
I'm sure they'll find a way to have the wii fit board work for this game...LOL...hurry - do a push up before that thing eats your head....hurry!
I can see this doing miles better than the Dead Rising PS2 looking game for the Wii, personally.
Even though I hate rail systems for anything but IPs made for them [like House of the Dead].
Oh yes, I'm sure it will just tickle them when yet another mediocre game is released to poor reviews because the developer couldn't/wouldn't invest the time and money to make the game a quality experience.
What good are 'exclusives' if they suck? I'd buy a sequel to "Dead Space" on PS3 on the day it is released. With this one...I'll wait to see how the reviews stack up.
If plays anything like Killer7 I'm all over it. For those that haven't played that game, think Myst IV, with guns... and weird zombies... hehe
and on an aside,
I still can't figure out why Nintendo is the one to blame for the crapy third-party game situation on the Wii. Does this mean we can blame Movie Theaters for all the crap that comes to their screen now to?
... maybe I missed something, but where did it say it was a rail shooter? How can you have puzzles in a rail shooter?
It was mentioned here http://wii.ign.com/articles/954/954895p1.html
They mention Res Evil: UC but the game play discriptions they give out sound closer to that of Killer7. If it's more RE:UC, it could be fun. If it's 7like That has lots of potental to be something nifty. Weather it has the chance to live up to that potential is iffy, but there's hope.
