California Video Game Law... Terminated.

As a new resident of California, I have been trying my best to keep tabs on elections, what positions of power are currently filled by whom, and what asinine laws people are trying to pass. You all know what I'm talking about *coughpropeightcough*. Sorry about that.
Well, not to long ago (2005) the governator had proposed a law to place an enormous 4" square "18" label on any game that contains violent content. After some recent studies basically reinforce what the game industry has been preaching for the last forever, a lack of a causical link between violence games and negative behavior, the 9th court has taken it to themselves to kill the law.
Now starts the onslaught of political reactions. Jennifer Mercurio, Director of Government Affairs for the Entertainment Consumers Association had this to say:
We couldn't be happier. Federal courts have found all nine legislative attempts to curtail the sale of violent video games invalid under the Fist Amendment, definitively showing that video games are protected speech, just like other content such as books, comic books, movies and music.
I'm kinda curious as to what the parents of this law will have to say. I'm hoping that it won't be back. Yes. I went there.

I think I'm more interested in what the Fist Amendment involves.
Is 'causical' even a real word? lol
Anyway, I think the gaming community probably needs to do more in curtailing the ignorance of these people who are making these ridiculous proposals. I'm sure they probably think that they are doing some good but are just going completely the wrong way about it.
