Boys, Zombies, And Professors Added To GDC '09

As if having Iwata, Kojima, Schaffer, and numerous other highly influential figures part of their line up wasn't enough, the organizers of the Game Developers Conference have revealed a few last-minute sessions from some of the other biggest names in the industry. First up we have children's playground designer and the creator of the Katamari Damacy, Keita Takahashi talking 'All About Noby Noby Boy.' The session's description could not be cryptic with the listed intended audience being "anyone who cares to listen." Next, we have Michael Booth from Valve chatting up all things multiplayer with a session called 'From Counter-Strike to Left 4 Dead: Creating Replayable Cooperative Experiences.' Hopefully this session will give us a few clues as to just how L4D's fiendish AI Director works. And finally, we have a GDC first as Yasuhiro Akasaka from speaking on 'Level-5 Techniques to Producing a Hit Game - From Professor Layton to Inazuma Eleven and The Another World.' Mr. Akasaka will be joined by Level-5 CEO Akigiro Hino, who knows a thing or two about creating games that sell millions upon millions of copies. Hot off of the latest Layton adventure's release in Japan, this marks the famous RPG-makers first Western conference appearance.
All in all, this year's GDC is shaping up to have some very unique and intriguing panels that will give developers and gamers a peak into the development process of some of the best titles around. As always, GayGamer will be there to report on any breaking news and fascinating tid bits.
