Atlus USA Plays Coy About New Shin Megami Tensei Game
Atlus sent out a note yesterday to tease what looks like an upcoming game in the Shin Megami Tensei series. With "???" in the subject line, the image on the right, and no identifying text in the message, we'll just have to guess at what's coming our way. Siliconera makes a good case for the Devil Summoner sequel, action RPG Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon:
The clue is the shadow, it looks like "Raiho" a stuffed toy Konamistyle gave out as a pre-order bonus in Japan. The PlayStation 2 game, perhaps Atlus Japan's final PS2 game, came out there in October.
Does that sound about right to you, or is there another game in the series that you'd be drooling over? And if this is the last big SMT game for the PS2, are you excited about the prospect of the series jumping into the current generation of consoles? I'm sure more information is forthcoming, so keep your eyes open.
