Video: Acekard Unveils First DSi Compatible Flashcart
Well, it didn't take long, but it is official: The Nintendo DSi has a flash cart. The Acekard2i allows users to boot from the Slot-1 port, thus allowing homebrew users to continue producing free, legit software for their proprietary hardware.
The downside? The SD bus is unavailable to the system once it has booted to DS mode. That likely includes the extra 12 MB of system memory. The major appeal of the internal SD bus for me was the possibility of having extra memory for writing software, but that is effectively disabled. This will at least help encourage developers to release software for the DSi exclusively, as they are the only things that are so far hack proof.
