Tasty Video Game Bento Boxes Make Art Out Of Food

Nothing like a good bento box for lunch to get you rolling and ready for whatever your afternoon may bring, be it playing games 'til your heart's content or slaving mindlessly away for the man in a dead-end job. It's especially fun when your bento box has a theme to help tie the pieces together. Unfortunately, creative bento boxes are somewhat hard to come by outside of Japan; however, the culinary artistic among us need not fear, for Anna The Red has a lovely little blog up in which her love of making bento and of all things geeky merge together to help you recreate whimsical (and delicious) bento dishes of your own.
The one pictured to the side is a great example of how she took the game Katamari Damacy and created a mound of yummy bento from it. Best part is that inside that big ball is a bunch of leftover curry that she had just waiting for someone to dig into it. She's also done BioShock Big Daddy & Little Sister combo, Portal's Companion Cube, Kirby and Yoshi, Raving Rabbids, Cooking Mama and a few other geeky inspirations. The best part is that she describes in great detail how to make each plate, along with a flickr stream that has great pictures of the process. Hit up the blog and roll up as many of the dishes as you care to try and handle or check the gallery below for some highlights!
