Home Going Down, Coming Back Sans Voice Chat

2eem0er.jpg

So, you're hopelessly addicted to Playstation Home, spending your every waking moment buying furniture, and decorating your virtual apartment, right? Well, you're going to be a little disappointed tonight. As of Midnight (PDT), Home will be going down for scheduled maintenance for approximately 6 hours.

The scheduled down time will not only be used to help improve server stability, it will also include a client update. Your 1.03 will magically become a 1.04. What's new with this update? I have no idea. What we do know is that Sony is temporarily disabling voice chat. Presumably this is to counteract the additional load required to host VoIP communications.

Sony promises that they will bring back voice chat as soon as the system is capable of handling the additional load. In the mean time, you'll just have to use a USB or Bluetooth keyboard, or even the onscreen keyboard.
