8-bit Jesus Or Carols In the Key Of Retro-Gaming
Christmas is almost upon us, which means tons of evergreens, lots of holly, plenty of confectionery delights, bunches of wrapping paper, and that every store is playing Christmas songs ad nauseum. For all of you working in retail stores this season, I feel your pain for I have plenty of friends who tell me just how much they went to 'deck the halls' with all the Christmas music crap pop artists release each year at this time; however, not all Christmas songs remakes are required to be annoying. Looks like the talent over at Doctor Octoroc decided that Christmas carols being lame was not something he would stand for and put his own little twist on some classic tunes.
What the man has done is taken classic Christmas Carols and 8-bit gaming music and mashed them together into lovely 8-bit gaming carols. With funny titles like, 'Have Yourself A Final Little Fantasy' and 'Carol Of The Belmonts', there are some really creative and nostalgic carols that the Doc has put together. Currently all 18 of the songs that he has up are free to download off the site and he is also accepting donations of $15, for which he will send you a physical copy of the CD for your own enjoyment. I've always been a big fan of classic gaming so seeing 18 carols like this is like getting an early present from Santa. I'll just have to think of a good way to thanks that big old polar bear daddy by the name of Saint Nick for this music gaming goodness. . . now where did I put my mistletoe flogger?
