Zen Studios Goes Balls Out for Street Frighter II
Wow, Capcom is definitely milking the Street Fighter II franchise for all that it is worth these days. Each week they send us more screenshots of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, which I have stop putting up, personally, because each time they tease about a release date being given soon, and each time they don't give one. Now they've got a new way of bring your attention to both another game and to SSFIIHDR in the form of pinball wizardry. That's right, Capcom and Zen Studios have announced that a Street Fighter theme table will soon be available for their Pinball FX game on Xbox Live Arcade.
As some of you may recall, Pinball FX came out last year on the Xbox 360 Live Arcade. Since then the studio has been releasing more and more custom tables for the game for people to play. The new Street Fighter themed game will have the following features for its table:
- Enter the World Warrior Championship fighting as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Guile and battle against Sagat, Evil Ryu, Vega, and Balrog, then win the final round of the championship against M. Bison!
- Discover special combo shots, animated punches, kicks and special moves as you fight against opponents using ramps and a variety of orbit shots.
- Multiple in-game challenges featuring objects, art and memorable items from Street Fighter™ II.
- Table soundtrack, sound effects and voices from the original Street Fighter II.
- Brand new hot-seat multiplayer.
The replay factor on the table seems high since you can play as different characters, which I would hope would have different animations and actions, especially for the player specific combos. As always with Pinball FX, the graphics look spectacular and the gameplay seems to be the sort of fast pace action people expect from pinball machines. Not sure how much fun the "hot-seat multiplayer" will be, since the concept doesn't immediately conjure any definite play style to mind, but then again I'm not that pinball knowledgeable; however, if you already have the game, or want to try it out, this Street Fighter themed table will be available on Xbox Live on Nov. 12th, so feel free to get you hands on it then.
