Video: Klonoa: Door To Phantomile
Attention developers of games on the Wii. It is no secret that the system isn't the polygon pushing powerhouse that other current generation consoles are. If evidenced by some of the games released, some of you think the Wii is only capable of Playstation era graphics, and not even the Squaresoft version of PS1 graphics. I want all of you to watch the trailer for Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, a remake of the original Playstation platformer. This is how you do visuals on the Wii. Notice how they're bright, crisp, and work on showcasing the advantages of the hardware and not the flaws. These are what games should look like, no more muddy visuals.
As for the game itself, Klonoa enjoys sticking to its 2.5D roots and is better for it. The original game was a classic and ushered in a new era of sidescrolling adventures, and while a new entry would have been appreciated, remakes can have a tendency to shine. Do yourselves a favor and keep an eye on this one. I know it'll be on my long list of games to check out when/if it hits US shores.

I am unreasonably excited about this. Even though I got 100% completion on the PS1 version (and Klonoa 2) I'll defiantly pick this up.
As I recall though this is marketed as a kids game and it is 1) Rather hard in places and 2) had a really traumatic ending. Oh well...
oh thank god, they didn't go with the redesign of Klonoa.
Oh. My. GOD.
Must get Wii modded to play imports. NOW.
Honestly i do not see what's thebig deal. I can already play this game on my ps1, and the second one on my ps2. Why do we keep buying games that have already been made when we should honestly be expecting the third in the series; not a rehash of an old game.
