Video: DSi Does Homebrew... CONFIRMED!
Just short of someone harvesting a DS Lite, transplanting it's organs in a DSi case and spending entirely too much money... it is safe to say that the system has been effectively hacked. In this video Yasu's manicured friend plays a homebrew (as made evident by the font located on the bottom screen) version of Pop 'n Music. I'm kinda curious as to where I can find a copy of that program myself, honestly, it looks freaking sweet.
The word on the street is that the exploit uses a custom save game (see: Twilight Princess... again...) to cause a stack smash. The big difference this time is that the DSi is harder to push firmware updates to, and if it is a save game exploit, there is no way to patch the application itself. So, hurray for homebrew, and big frown for Nintendo's anti-bootcart measures.

Via GoNintendo? Where is the link to the original article? I can't see it on their site anywhere.
Hmm? Updating the firmware for the DS lite involved breaking it's warrenty, and connecting two points with a piece of metal. Are you telling me it's even harder on the DSi? Strange...
