Sins Of A Solar Empire 1.1: Huge Free Update, Expansion Pre-Orders

For those of you who aren't busy downloading the NXE update on your 360s (four whole channels just for ads? Yee-haw!), Stardock has an update of its own to parade about town: RTS powerhouse Sins of a Solar Empire update 1.1.

The update fixes bugs, of course, and improves AI and game balance, but also adds a load of new content, including a "mini-underground" window that allows you to trade resources and make pirate bids from the main gameplay screen. On the technical end of things, Alloy Networking Technology makes for seamless multiplayer with no mucking about with router settings, and there's been a major upgrade to the graphics engine to allow for better performance across the board. The graphics have also been improved on the small scale, with new textures, models, explosions, etc.

One glaring omission - the only deal-breaking fault in the game, still - is the lack of a campaign. Sins created such a rich universe replete with novel-worthy backstory... and then used none of it. Such a waste of ingenuity!

Also starting today, you may pre-order Entrenchment, the upcoming expansion - and as a pre-order bonus, you'll be included in the Entrenchment beta.
