Rumorama: Boom Blox 2 In Development

The recent closing of EA's Blueprint division spelled bad news for all those who worked in the top secret portion of the company. If there is one small glimmer of good from this shut down, it is that a sequel to Bloom Blox is currently being developed. For those of you not familiar with the Wii game, it is a puzzle game mixing Jenga with good old fashioned destruction. Variety reported this on their website yesterday saying:
The Blueprint model is also being used on a previously undisclosed, but none-too-surprising, project: "Boom Blox 2." (not the official title) Apparently work is already underway on a sequel to the spring's innovative Wii puzzle game, which got very good reviews (especially from me) and and sold decently, last we heard
The original game is actually responsible for my brother and his wife purchasing a Wii of their own, and every family gathering is an excuse to play through the game's amazing multiplayer modes. If there is in fact a sequel in development, hopefully word of mouth will turn the game into a bonafide hit. If only EA would confirm the game was actually in development I could start getting really excited. Until we know more, cross your fingers and toes that EA sees the value in an IP that appeals to hardcore and casual fans.
