Blizzard And GameStop Celebrate Lich King Launch

Nothing brings gamers out of the woodwork like the launch of their favorite game. Last night, Blizzard and GameStop celebrated the launch of the new World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. Hundreds of revelers gathered in New York and San Francisco to ring in the new game Azeroth style.
I attended the San Francisco event and GameStop had taken over the entire block as I had seen done with other games, but this one was a little different. There were booths set up along the sidewalk offering a variety of activities for players waiting to get their hands on the new title. You could get your face painted, get a photo of you with your head in one of those cardboard cutouts or rule the block with a photo on a giant ice throne (as seen above). The line stretched to the end of the block on both sides and the mood of anticipation was palpable. It was definitely an exciting night to be a World of Warcraft fan.
Be sure to check out the gallery below to check out all the fun and excitement and painted faces!

That photo is...HAWT!! lol
I've got no interest in World of Warcraft--but looks like a fun launch. It would have been worth it to go just to see that cool throne (and that Fruit Brute!)

Yay! I know where that is. It's fun to see familiar locations on blog sites.
damn fruit brute makes a mighty fine lich king.
How's does one pronounce "lich"?
Wow...five comments over two days, and not a single innuendo or similar comment? This situation must be remedied!
*clears throat*
"Oh no, Fruit Brute - your sword isn't nearly shiny enough! I'm going to have to give it a good buffing...all night long." ;)
Woohoo! that's my friend Marik and I with our faces painted. The release was a tons of fun, and thanks for being there :)
dang...
tattoos, glasses, sideburns, a sword and a planet terror t-shirt
why o why are the hot ones always taken or gay?
...or both?
on topic:
in the Netherlands the launch was pretty much uneventful. no elves, dwarves or orcs in sight. only boring humans.
but I did see a succubus making out with his warlock master, which was gross... and a little bit hot, but mostly gross.
If lich king is that handsome i will start playing very very soon...
