YouTube To Sell Games And Music

You Tube, you are our mistress and our demon; you let us look at music videos on a whim and allow internet memes to run rampant in our chatrooms; however, you rarely received any money for your services, so that's why I never considered you an "escort", until now. Looks like Google has finally found a way to actually turn some revenue off of their often visited video portal, You Tube. Starting soon, You Tube will feature buttons at the bottom of some videos allowing viewers to go to amazon.com or the iTunes store to purchase mp3s of the music videos they are watching. On the videogame side of the coin, it seems that Spore videos posted to You Tube will also feature a button to allow watchers to directly download the game to their computer. All of this is part of an ongoing push to make You Tube part of Google's e-commerce services to help them generate some moola off your watching habits.
I try to avoid Amazon.com and iTunes when i can, but the fact that EA will be advertising Spore through this services has some ramifications on how future digital distribution models for games may shape up. Free advertising is always great, and paying a small fee for referrals isn't half bad either.
