Weekly XBLA Update - 10/01/08

It may be a week behind the Wii and PS3, but today's update means a certain blue robot is making his XBLA debut. Mega Man 9 will cost you 800 points, which is well worth it if you're a fan of the series. A word of caution, as you've seen in earlier posts, the game is freakin' hard. It took me longer than I care to admit to finish the demo last week and the game is sitting on my PS3 taunting me.
What looks like a pleasant surprise is War World, a mech based multiplayer action game. The game looks amazing and not to be Mr. Hype, but check out the features I found on the game's official website:
Super Powerful and unique Mechs - Choose from 10 different mechanoids, each having special abilities, advantages and disadvantages. Special Abilities include things like Extreme Speed, High Damage Lasers, Powerful Miniguns, Missiles, Stealth Invisibility, Mortars, Mine-launchers, Tough Armor, Powerful shields etc.Singleplayer Modes - Singleplayer Arcade mode boasts a 100 level campaign that can be played with 5 levels of difficulty. Singleplayer Death match and Singleplayer Team Death Match puts you up against the best Mech fighters of War World.
Fast Paced Multiplayer - Play with other Xbox gamers via online or LAN War World multiplayer offers 4 unique game-modes: Capture the flag, Bomb Assault, Death Match and Team Death Match
Has Xbox 360 found its answer to Warhawk? For only 800 points they've got my support. Now if only a few characters from Gundam had cameos...
Last but not least is the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Blood Sugar Sex Magik album is available for Rock Band and Rock Band 2 owners. The full album will cost players 1600 points while individual tracks will sell for 160 points a piece. The tracks are:
• "The Power of Equality"
• "If You Have to Ask"
• "Breaking the Girl"
• "Funky Monks"
• "Suck My Kiss"
• "I Could Have Lied"
• "Mellowship Slinky in B Major"
• "The Righteous & The Wicked"
• "Blood Sugar Sex Magik"
• "Under the Bridge"
• "Naked in the Rain"
• "Apache Rose Peacock"
• "The Greeting Song"
• "My Lovely Man"
• "Sir Psycho Sexy"
• "They're Red Hot"
So, does anything here strike your fancy?

The game is no warhawk =[ It's not bad at all, but the demo is kind of limited. I went ahead and made the jump and picked up the full game. It's fun, but it's an arena style game, like Virtual On, Quake, etc. I've only made it in a few TDM and DM matches so far, but I'm keeping an eye out for the other two modes.
