Video: Virtual Hydlide on Broken Pixels
Warning: Watching this video at work may be dangerous! There are plenty of dirty words thrown around, a flamboyant zombie pops up out of nowhere, and spontaneous giggling on your part may occur.
Virtual Hydlide may have been one of the first third party developed games for the Saturn, but time has not treated this "once-pioneer" well. I remember playing this game at a friend's house back in the day and thinking it looked pretty cool. I mean, it had all these "realistic" 3D graphics with real people used for characters! It was way better than the old-n-busted Genesis games I was playing, or so I thought. Watching the dreadful game in the clip above makes me wish I could travel back in time with a PS3 and a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 to impress a younger version of myself. I'm sure Game-Boy-Boy would ask me all kinds of things about the future... Would Nintendo make a CD based system? How many bits are in the PS3? Would I ever kiss a boy? ...ah, youth really is innocence.
Anyone else recently revisit any of those games they used to think looked beautiful only to find their clunky controls and horrible graphics too much to bear?

In a very similar vein, Stonekeep (of which I was reminded when signing up for Good Old Games).
I had Deception III and remembered how awesome it was when I first played it. But looking at it now you can see all the pixelation in the cut scenes. I remember thinking why bother with the CG if it's going to look like shit. It was still fun though, just not pretty to look at.
This explains why the game just jumped $4 on amazon. bah... I just found out the Saturn had 12 rpgs. I already own 6... I don't own this but god it looks bad.
PS: I hate seanbaby...
