Video: A Final Reminder, California

This one goes to all our California Gay Gamers.

This is it guys. Today is the LAST day to register to vote in California. Aside from the Presidential election, we've got Prop 8 to deal with. It's been gaining support (somehow) and we need everyone we can get to fight it. So please, if somehow you haven't registered yet, march your butt down to a post office and get that registration form filled out, OR download the form and mail it. As long as it's postmarked today your registration will count for the election on the 4th.

Because, between you and me, I'd like to get married someday.

Props to Milkfat for the great parody video. (here's the terrible original)

Oh geez, I've been seeing those Yes on Prop 8 commercials all over TV. Haha, this parody is awesome!

had to overhear a few ignorant older women at work discuss prop 8, made my blood boil. i wasn't near enough to intrude on the discussion.

I'm hoping this new job i'm seeking works out, if it does, i'll be leaving with a memorable, lengthy email to everyone I know here....

*sigh*

For those of you not in CA, you can help the cause by donating at http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/19788. My hubby and I have been raising money here in MA from our single and married friends—now, in the last few weeks, I think the advertising dollars will matter greatly.

The parody ad is brilliant, too. I'm a gay-married stegosaurus bear—look what Massachusetts did to me!

I have to say that having to register in order to get a vote is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long while.

In my country, voting is a right that every citizen who is over 18 holds. Our vote is registered after we give it, not before.

RE: Sami

I think the reasoning behind having to register to vote is to ensure that only the most informed/engaged citizens exercise their right to vote-- however misguided some of those people's views are. Its also the reason why voting isn't required by law like in some countries.

God knows that our voting record isn't exactly great though...
