Saw Videogame Will Tie Up Loose Ends, Flesh Out Mythos

Wootini first scooped this tidbit back in January, but now new details have emerged in the videogamification of the Saw film franchise. Brash Entertainment have made a game out of Jigsaw's game, and we can only hope it's as twisted
The SAW video game is set to release in October 2009, in conjunction with the next installment of the film series. SAW the video game will give fans of Jigsaw a reason to live. Collaborating closely with LionsGate and Twisted pictures, the video game will have its own unique storyline, taking place between SAW I and SAW II and focusing on questions left unanswered within the first film, while bridging the gap between the first and second films.
I'm glad to hear that the game will be a prequel of sorts, since I'm not 100% confident that the Saw world can be spun into too many more movies (not that I'm not super excited to see Luke from Gilmore Girls get his in the upcoming fifth film). With a few plot holes and more than a little skipping around back and forth (not to mention the occasional Donnie Wahlberg body double), the Saw world could do with a little stitching up.
In an effort to stay true to the SAW Universe, Brash is working closely with the SAW creators, Leigh Whannell and James Wan, ensuring the game pulls no punches, and delivers the horrifying suspense and disbelief that has floored fans worldwide. The SAW video game is currently in development for next-gen platforms, PS3 and Xbox 360, and will be built using the Unreal 3 game engine.
More good news - working with the Saw universe's creators, rather than the variable crew who arguably jumped the shark in Saw IV. Now all that remains to be seen is whether or not the game turns out to be any good - it better be scary! Coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 next year, October 2009.

I hate Saw and I hate you.
