Microsoft Offers Reward For Information On Missing Boy

160_missing_081021.jpg

Brandon Crisp, a 15 year old Ontario boy, ran away from his home after his father took away his Xbox 360. Brandon had been playing a lot of Call of Duty 4 and apparently his grades had started slipping as a result. There has also been mention of some stealing and class skipping as well by the boy's father. Brandon has been missing since October 13 and the search is on to find him. Police are looking at people on Brandon's Xbox friend list in connection with the incident and have brought Microsoft in on the investigation. The company has offered 25,000 for any information leading to his return.

There is so much here that begs to be looked at. First and foremost, why was this 15 year old kid playing an M rated game? Once again, people want to put the blame on the game when they should be looking at why it was given to him in the first place. Secondly, it seems unlikely that the Xbox incident is the sole reason for his running away. More than likely there are other elements at play here. And what has me the most confused is why MS has chosen to put money into the search. I certainly admire the gesture, but it just seems odd to me. Almost like they feel guilty for something that is ultimately not their fault. Whatever the reason for MS's generosity, we here at GG hope for Brandon's safe return home.

This is big news in Canada right now. I live in Ontario and we've been hearing about this regularly. America's Most Wanted is now involved. Local police have given up the ground search but the OPP cyber-crime unit is still searching his computer, phone and Xbox for more clues. A website has been set up if you want more information.

Although his gaming was blamed in headlines at the beginning of this sad event, more and more reports are backing off the Xbox angle and focusing more on the effort to find him. If you have any information, please step forward!

Get home safe Brandon.

I don't get why they are putting so much effort into this one person. Because he was addicted and threw a fit and ran off? Or IS there something more to this?

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
