Matt Hazard Parody Trailer Brings Me So Much Joy
This is the most brilliant videogame trailer I have seen in a long time. I love a good parody, and this Eat Lead trailer strikes that tone perfectly. Normally I need to see some gameplay footage to get me excited for a game, but for this one the premise alone has me hooked. I mean, how could I not like a game about a retired videogame character coming back into the spotlight in a not so subtle jab at Duke Nukem Forever? My only wish is that some of Matt Hazard's "classic" games are included as unlockables when the game is released. Oh, and the fact that Matt Hazard is quite the hunk doesn't hurt either.

No kidding! I watched it and all I could think was wow, he's pretty hot for a shoot-em character. Here's hopin' there's a swimsuit calendar.
I see the parallels with Duke Nukem but I could swear there was a little Metal Gear Solid and Snake thrown in. Specifically the part about they "putting him in a kids' game." (Smash Bros. anyone?) n_n
There were also traces of "Golden Eye" with "You Only Love 1317 Times" being a 4 player Spy Shooter.
Then "Perfect Dark" with "Matt Hazard: Alien Assassination Arena" being a multiplayer death match while the single-player campaign took him fighting aliens in a future setting.
The Goldeneye reference goes a bit further on the You Only Live 1317 Times game, since according to the staged fansite it's the sequel to a game called "Thunder Eye." It's also supposedly the first time Matt Hazard appeared on a console.
Other references include Tomb Raider, Wolfenstein 3D, Mega Man, Contra, Commander Keen, War of the Monsters, and Altered Beast
