Fallout 3 Makes Me Foresake All Others

I have been playing Fallout 3 for about a week now and I have to admit, it's stealing a lot of time that I could be using to play all the other amazing games that have been coming out in the past few weeks. As a matter of fact, I think I may have a problem. I really liked Oblivion and Fallout 3 definitely follows that formula, but the improvements and changes have really put it in its own category. Maybe it's just that I'm a bit sick of the whole "sword and sorcery" routine, maybe it's my inherent love of all things atomic fifties and big band music. It could also be my OCD that compels me to explore every hidden area and every sidequest and try (unsuccessfuly) to carry everything I can get my grubby Wastelander mitts on. Maybe it's the pleasure of watching my enemy's heads explode in a slow motion flood of blood and gore thanks to the awesome V.A.T.S. Or perhaps it's just the fact that it's an incredibly engrossing game that is suddenly (in my head anyway) a contender for Game of the Year. However you slice it, Fallout 3 is just good gaming through and through. If you haven't picked up a copy yet, do so. But make sure you have all your bills paid up and plenty of fresh water because you won't be leaving your couch for quite a while.
Keep your eyes here for Tiny Dancer's full review of the game early next week!

In my head, I was going, Check, Check, Check, and Cheeeck.
I think the most satisfying is using gernades/mininukes/missiles in VATS...
So over the top.
Just received the game yesterday, and it sucked away the rest of the day.
Hehehe... my friends hate me right now, despite the fact that I warned them about this.
I went over to my buddy's house to help him watch his kid while his wife was at work... and instead of playing Little Big Planet co-op, I sat there and played Fallout for HOURS until I finally realized what was going on and sheepishly offered him the controller. XD
(Doesn't help that when he had the controller he played for HOURS as well.)
I really hadn't thought about picking up this game until now... Thanks for that lil' bit o' insight, Fruit! I will be getting this one now for sure. :)
Heard lots of good stuff about this game, and from actual gamers as well. :) Didn't really like Oblivion being from someone who enjoyed Morrowind, and hence found lots of flaws but it looks like Fallout 3 is almost perfect. :)
Does any one know if there are any gay content in this one like in the previous series?
For me, I've been completely engrossed in LittleBigPlanet. After just finishing Fable, I need a break from RPG's for a moment, but I do have Fallout 3 here in front of me. Here's to hoping it steals away the weekend, but..it's got some tough competition in my house.
