Tenchu's Ninjas Sneak Their Way Onto The Wii

ninja-kids.jpg

Polish up that katana... er, I mean Wiimote... because Ubisoft announced today that Tenchu 4 will be released in North America and Europe exclusively on the Wii in early 2009. And don't worry too much about the decline in the quality of the stealth-action series, because the development team from the original Tenchu, Acquire, has, um, been acquired to revitalize the franchise. (We'll see if it works!)

Being a Wii exclusive, players will use the Wiimote to do their ninja killings as they continue the tale of Rikimaru and Ayame as they slash and burn their way through feudal Japan. Over 10 missions and 50 side quests are being promised, so there should be plenty of stealth kills to be had.

I remember enjoying the original Tenchu on my PlayStation, even if it got hard and frustrating because I kind of suck at stealth games. This might be fun, if they don't get too caught up in turning everything into a bunch of gimmicky motion controls!
