Rumorama: Starcraft 2 Bumped Back By Diablo 3

Starcraft fans have been waiting 10 years now for a sequel to emerge, and now that Blizzard has started putting out information and gameplay videos, it seems like those fans can breathe a sigh of relief. But according to an article over at Battleforums, the more recently announced Diablo 3 may throw a temporary wrench in the Starcraft 2 gears. Apparently in a casual conversation with someone over at Battleforums, a Blizzard employee let out this nugget of information.
[Starcraft 2] is still being worked on, but only by a minuscule amount of people compared to what [Blizzard] put on the Diablo 3 team.
So this means one of two things. It could mean that Starcraft 2 is far enough in development that the team needed isn't as large as the team working on the still-fledgling Diablo 3. Of course, more likely it means that Blizzard has found that its action-oriented games sell better than the company's RTS offerings (such as the difference between Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft sales) and has prioritized accordingly.
While I'm not very good at RTS games, Starcraft has always held a special place for me. The story, while borrowing from every sci-fi cliche available, managed to stay engaging and original. I would say that I can't wait for the sequel, but it looks like I'll be forced to. At least this is good news for all of you Diablo fans out there, so, Huzzah!

I'm taking a 'wait and see' approach with Diablo 3, considering that the team behind the previous Diablo games have move on to greener pastures. And screw WoW, City of Heroes rocks it's socks any day of the week.
