Video: Kirby Takes Flight
You've gotta give Nintendo credit... somebody in their marketing department is either a total genius or cracked out of their mind. To promote the September 22 launch of the new DS game Kirby Super Star Ultra, they released thousands of pink, mini-Kirby clouds into the skies above aptly named locations in four US cities. These included a park next to Kirby Middle School in Birmingham, AL, Kirby's Mill in Medford NJ, Kirby Gate shopping center in Memphis, TN and Kirby Park in Kingston, PA. The Kirby "clouds" were made out of soapy bubbles and lighter-than-air gas, and are called Flogos. And don't worry, they're environmentally friendly.
"We gave our one-of-a-kind creations a special look for this special Nintendo character by adding coloring to our bubble mixture for the first time ever," said Greg Stanhope, Director of Sales for Flogos. "Kirby deserved a uniquely creative event."
Well, I'd definitely call this "unique!"

I freakin love kirby, that pink smiley blob that likes to suck things
Wow, that is so cool! I would freak out if I saw a giant Kirby floating overhead one day. I love it.
That's really cute!
Now THAT is bizarre. But I gotta give 'em credit for trying something unique.
Wow, really cute gamer boy at 0:55 ;P
great marketing except for only doing it in middle of nowhere america. they should of skipped the whole name thing and done it in major cities instead
If it were done in a major city, I can imagine some people freaking out, like the Lite-Brite/Aqua Teen incident.
