Far Cry 2 Dated, Pre-Order Edition
Les mecs at Ubisoft have set a North American release date for Far Cry 2: October 21, just a handful of days before Halloween.
Releasing simultaneously for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, Far Cry 2 will also ship a pre-order edition exclusive to Gamestop. The exclusive pre-order edition, which you'll automatically receive for pre-ordering and will sell at the same price point, has six bonus missions that amount to about 3 extra hours of gameplay, a fold-out map of the Far Cry world (Farcryistan? Farcry Atoll? Farcrynesia?) and, of course, very special packaging.

SAN FRANCISCO - September 8, 2008 - Today Ubisoft announced that Far Cry 2® will ship to retailers nationwide on October 21, 2008. Far Cry 2 will be available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PC.
Additionally, Ubisoft announced an exclusive pre-order partnership with Gamestop; Pre-order the game at GameStop and automatically receive a Limited Edition version of Far Cry 2. This exclusive edition is regularly priced and is only available at GameStop.
In addition to the regular SKU, the GameStop Pre-Order Edition includes:
• 6 Bonus Missions with about 3 bonus hours of explosive gameplay
• A fold out map of the open world of Far Cry 2
• Exclusive game packaging
