Video: Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe FIGHT!
Midway just released this new video of some fighting gameplay for the upcoming Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe game, narrated by Ed Boon himself. Eddie walks you through some of the basics, demonstrating some of the, er, kombat moves. He mentions that the story mode will explain why Superman doesn't just wipe the floor with his opponents, but hints that it has something to do with magic. Bull. Superman is like, the worst videogame character ever, because he always has to be de-powered so there's a challenge. Weak. I did appreciate the way that his costume and cape became more torn and tattered as Scorpion kicked his ass. I didn't see much difference between his moves and Batman's, but Flash was noticeably different, and not just because his redesigned costume is incredibly fugly. The "Klose Kombat" is intriguing as long as it isn't too awkward from a gameplay standpoint, but the footage shown of the "Freefall Kombat" looked ridiculously awesome. I still think this game is like oil and water, but who knows maybe by the time it comes out it'll be more like chocolate and peanut butter.

This game looks terrible. I don't know anyone who ever thought "OMFG!! There needs to be a game that includes comic book heroes versus Mortal Kombat heroes!!!"
In my opinion, Capcom Versus Marvel was fun, but not because it was Capcom Versus Marvel. It was fun because the fighting engine was entertaining and over the top for a Capcom fighter.
Maybe MK vs DC will play better than it looks...
"Superman has two weaknesses, Kryptonite and *mmffmfmffm". Or is it just me?
@swotr:
It's a little mumbled, but I assume he said "magic." In the comics and cartoons, Superman has always had a little trouble with mystical characters.
