Weekly XBLA Update - 07/30/08

Happy Hump Day, homos and friends! Your Uncle Tiny's cookin' up cheddar grits and waffles 'afore he tells you this week's boxy news: the folks at Xbox Live Arcade are kicking off their Summer of Arcade with the first of four new titles, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, the sequel to the twitchingly entrancing Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, which came to us first from within Project Gotham Racing 2 and 3.
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 or "Evolveder," as I'm calling it (although wouldn't the evolution of something that's retro just place you back at the present?) comes with "insane" features such as six new modes of play. Six modes, y'all (Deadline, Evolved, King, Pacifism, Waves, and Sequence). Plus, a "diverse" list of achievements. Can a game be insane and diverse at the same time? My brainpan hurts. The pricing, a sane and uniform 800 Microsoft Points.
My fellow Rock Band DLC addicts: today you'll offer up bitter chips of your dwindling financial bulwark in devotion to your rock god/dess and in return, you'll be blessed with four new tracks:
At 160 MP you'll find "They Say" by Scars on Broadway; "This is It" by Staind; and "Electric Crown" by Testament.
And at 80 MP you'll find something called "Yomp" from something called The New No 2. Great Pumpkin, I'm old.
