E3 '08: Miyamoto Speaks Wii Storage

shigeru_miyamoto_060605.jpg

With WiiWare released a few months ago, and a steady stream of Virtual Console games also being released, many Wii users that don't mind purchasing extra content at a price are quickly finding that their memory blocks on the Wii are a precious commodity. I know many were hoping that Nintendo would be addressing this issue at E3, along with the voice chat feature for games, and while Nintendo has addressed the later, there isn't much news on the former; however, it appears that IGN was able to get an interview with Miyamoto and was able to ask him the tough question as to whether a solution is coming. Miyamoto's response:

"There isn't anything that we can announce today, but we have been thinking along a variety of different lines regarding this matter for some time now. So my hope is that sometime in the not too distant future we will be able to discuss some concrete solutions."

Well, it's not a definite answer, but at least it's an acknowledgment of a problem and a desire to reach a solution. So worry not, sometime and somehow Nintendo will address this issue. Here's to hoping it doesn't have to connect to the bottom of the Wiimote, that thing is starting to get bottom heavy (though it's MotionPlus milkshake does bring all the boys to the yard).
