Apogee Bring Duke Nukem To Handhelds?!

Apogee is back from the dead... well, sort of. I seem to recall 3d Realms being Apogee but I'm not going to split hairs here, they are apparently two independent entities and working together to bring Duke Nukem to the (major) handhelds.
Working with 3d Realms, Apogee will be releasing "3 new episodes" of Duke Nukem content to the DS and PSP under the title of Duke Nukem Trilogy. The key phrase to all of this seems to be "what is old is new again", not exactly the sentiment that I want to hear from a company that hasn't really released a title since 16 color EGA was the screen mode to use.
According to their web page, the game will include:
- 9 Different World Locations
- 36 Action-Packed Levels
- 3D Accelerated Graphics
- 3D Characters with Detailed Textures
- Real-Time Particle and Lighting Effects
- Multi-Mode Play with up to 5 Different Styles of Game Play Action
- Multi-Player Action
- Total Ass-Kicking Weapons
For the love of god don't let it be a platformer. The specs seem to imply it's a pseudo-sequel to the Duke 3D, not much reason to use phrases like "detailed textures" and "lighting effects" when you're working with tiles. Abuse and Castlevania excluded of course.
Keep your fingers crossed folks, and bring your gas masks... I smell vapor.

Other sites have reported that Duke Nukem Trilogy would, in addition to the "three new episodes", include the original 3 Duke Nukem games.... which were, indeed, platformers.
Can't wait.
Legally, 3DRealms is Apogee.
