2K Sports Says Puck You, Wii
Well, we've played baseball, tennis, bowling, golf, and even darts and pool with our Wiimotes, so why not hockey? Why not, indeed? Well, 2K Sports is going to make that wish come true (if, in fact, that's what you've been wishing for) with the release of NHL 2K9 on the Nintendo Wii! That's right, the series will also have a version on the Wii, making it the first licensed NHL game on the console. And naturally, you'll be using your Wiimote like a hockey stick!
"It's our goal this year to bring the fun back to hockey video games," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "NHL 2K9 for Wii includes the full feature set as available on other platforms, and added Wii Remote controls and other exciting features specific for the Wii console will allow dedicated fans the opportunity to fully enjoy and embrace NHL hockey in a brand new experience."
NHL 2K9 will be out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but waving those controllers around like a hockey stick will only make you look like a tool. Well, more of a tool. I'm curious how the Wii controls will actually work. You can't really hold it like a hockey stick with two hands, because one of them will presumably be used to control your movement with the Nunchuck. Still, actually waving the Wiimote to score goals will certainly give the Wii version a unique selling point.

Hel-LOOOO Handsome Hockey's Next Great One!
Even though the Detroit Red Wings pretty much smothered Crosby in the Stanley Cup Finals, he is still probably the most talented player of his generation. And not only is he hot, he's SMART and quite erudite!
Oh, yea, about the game. My BF and I would be playing this game to DEATH!
Love hockey players...hate hockey drag...all those bulky pads hide some smokin' hot guys.
