You Have To Burn The Rope: The Most Literal Game Of All Time
I don't want to spoil You Have To Burn The Rope, a flash game by a Swedish programming student named Kian, although I will say it has one heck of a twist. It also has probably the best ending song I've heard since Portal's Still Alive, but don't worry - it won't take you hours to hear it.
In the game, you play a little pink testicle (or something) in a bowler hat who has to make it to the end of a long hallway before fulfilling the promise of the game's title. It's definitely good for a bit of an ego boost, or when you just want to burn a rope. You'll have to rely on your wits, your fingers, and your ability to follow basic instructions to survive. Actually, from what I can tell you can't die in the game, so you don't even need any of those things. Have fun!

Is it just me or can no one else move in the game....I press the arrow keys and it just immediately goes all the way in that direction...

I thought there HAD to be a little more to the game and I was right.
There's a secret room you can get to if you lure the Grinning Colossus away from the chandelier after you light the rope. Instead of hitting the Colossus, the chandelier hits the floor where a hole opens up which you can jump through.

Yeah it is impossible. I lured him away, but no matter what, he automatically goes back to the center and gets hit.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game. I had such a happy feeling for having saved everyone. I thought about what I could do with my day....Maybe Watch a video....maybe hit refresh and start again....

lol, love the fact that the weapons are totally pointless. Also on the main page the walkthru really helps those of us who had trouble with the game.

Certainly a better effort-to-ending ratio than any game I've finished in the last couple years (still no Portal as I run Linux and have a Wii and a PS2.)
is it just me or did anyone else think the ending was a major rip off of portal... lame... now every game indie game is going to have some song at the end telling you a story about what you just did or whatever.... grreeaaatt
I think it was meant more as a parody of Portal and the "funny song at the end of the game" idea.
I kind of got the feeling that they wrote the song first, and thought what should we do with it? Oh I know, lets spend five minutes making a game and have it at the end credits!
I think I'm in love with the pink testicle in the bowler though *sigh*
