Video: The Unholy Connection Between Chrono Trigger And Rick Astley
Really, I hated the idea of even believing in this. Yasunori Mitsuda's soundtrack to Chrono Trigger can be easily considered a masterpiece within the gaming empires, and Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up is remarkably danceable, while also being entirely sufferable.
It's shocking to think that some astute gamer out there perked up their ears as Robo's theme wandered through the ether and somehow concocted a correlation to the rickrolling phenomenon. What's even more shocking is that it not only matches, oh no, it sounds good.
The better question is whether Mitsuda is a closet Astley fan.
Then again, for the safety of the entire world, it may be best to not know.

weird...but it makes me love it.
excellent find.
I've noticed this before! I'm glad I'mnot alone!
What's worse, Robo's theme was always my favorite.
My friends always thought of Rick Astley the first time I heard this HAHA. We all would have a good laugh about it when robo came on screen.
What. The. Fuck.
That is so whacky! Now I'm going to bust out laughing every time I hear Robo's Theme!
Robo's theme will never be the same.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TARNISHING A CHERISHED PIECE OF MY TEEN YEARS.
Um...this is amazing. Love it!
Damn, I had the robo theme as my ringtone recently and I wondered why everyone assumed I was rick rolling them. I just thought they were un-game-cultured.
