Rock Band Sponsors Rock Concert

Wow. Way to make me feel old.
So turns out that Rock Band and MTV2 are co-sponsoring Flyleaf and Seether's co-headlining spring concert tour. Apparently, Seether has two top ten hits on active and modern rock radio, but I've never heard of them. And the only song from Flyleaf I know is "I'm So Sick," because it's actually in Rock Band. But hey, I guess these kids today love 'em!
"Sponsoring the Seether and Flyleaf tour is another way for us to give Rock Band fans the opportunity to connect with the bands they love and provide a stage for them to live out their rock fantasies," said Paul DeGooyer, SVP DVD, Gaming and Audio, MTV. "By supporting this tour, it allows us to expose great young talent like Flyleaf, who are a true Rock Band success story. The inclusion of their single "I'm So Sick" in Rock Band has helped propel them from gold to platinum selling artists."
The tour kicks off on April 8 and as it runs through May 21, fans who attend the shows will be able to play Rock Band against the members of Seether and Flyleaf. Competitions will be held with prizes ranging from copies of Rock Band to co-hosting a show on MTV2 with the bands. I love how now everything having to do with actual music is not associated with MTV2 since original flavor MTV is too busy with crap like The Hills and Next to bother with music anymore. Check out www.seether.com, www.flyleafmusic.com, www.mtv2.com or www.rockband.com for details on dates and locations!

Thou shalt not blaspheme The Hills! Those are some hot chicas, even if they are a little, uh, dense.
Yes, Music Television isn't a fitting acronym anymore, which I think they realized a long time ago that they'd do better to just appeal to the youngish audience rather than just play music.
Yeah I'm with ya. I have no idea who those people are...I hate getting old!
