Games For Heroes

The good folks over at Joystiq have brought to attention the charity Games For Heroes. They are sponsored by MarineParents.com and are looking for portable games and game systems (or cash to buy them) to send to soldiers serving in a place of war.
Next to letters, the most requested item is any kind of battery operated hand held video device including Gameboys, PSPs, and Nintendo DSs. Most of the soldiers are under 20. Our goal is to collect 10,000 game machines, batteries and games. We need your help. They can be new or used, as long as they are still working. We would appreciate one or many, or donations to buy them. If you would like to include a letter of support to the troops, that would be great, too.
Now, despite my current nom de plume writing for the site, I am not now nor have I ever been a member of the military. It was just something I thought up for Tribes back in the day. I do however, have the greatest respect for those serving in the military, especially in a time of war. (Whether or not I agree with the reason WHY they were sent there) Anything I can do to alleviate some of the boredom they deal with in their down time seems like a nice way to pay them back. I've been debating upgrading to a PSP Slim lately, and I do have a GBA: SP sitting around somewhere too.

most of them are under 20? >__
It's unsurprising that most of them are under 20. Recruiters hit high schools hard, and a lot of recruits are fresh graduates, putting them around 18-19.
