SuperSpecialAwesomeo: Design Your Own DS!
As much as I hate to admit it, I treat my handhelds as much of an fashion accessory as I do a gaming console.Heck, it was the sole reason why I brought a Game Boy Micro (which though fun to tote around and play Mario & Luigi on, was pretty much useless). Limited Editions and colors in particular make me nergasam in delight, providing another way to say "hey, this is me!".
Sadly though, apart from one or two awesome Japanese exclusive editions such as the fluro Pikachu yellow and metallic silver, the Nintendo DS's current range of colors leaves little to be desired for those wanting to make a bold statement. Thankfully design company Colourware has just the solution for you folks....
For more than the cost of a regular Lite, you can buy (or send in your current one, the cheaper option but sadly only for those in the US) a personalized DS, with a colour scheme of your own choosing!
It's pretty easy to order: Just choose your colors for various bits and pieces, and Voila! It's yours within 3 weeks. A word of warning though: it can get pretty pricey if you decide to customize every part, which is discouraged anyway, as the result is usually quite hideous.
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it 's cool and novel to have your own personalized DS (finally my dreams of Tangerine have come true!), but on the other is the cost worth it just for a cosmetic feature? If I somehow manage to find a spare couple of hundred dollars then this might tempt me, but at the moment I think old phattie is putting along just fine. I have an aunt called Viola. You probably meant Voila. ;) Sorry for being a grammar nazi, but that word is in my top 5 of spelling pet-peeves.
Maybe I meant Viola, just to spice things up Interrobang :P
If you get your iPod or your Macbook colored it voids the Apple warrantee. Not sure how this customization would affect the Nintendo warrantee.
