King Of Kong Still Not Dethroned

Like all of you, I saw the fantastic documentary The King Of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, and rooted for underdog Steve Wiebe to dethrone the imperious Donkey Kong high score record-holder Billy Mitchell. Wait, what, you haven't seen this movie? Right. Any of you who haven't, stop reading right this second and go watch it. It's awesome. All done now? Told you it was good. Now you can keep reading.
Well, unfortunately, the rivalry continues to this day. Last week, there was another face-off in Las Vegas, but Wiebe was unable to topple Mitchell's 1,050,200 point score. Wiebe's personal best remains 1,049,100, but the closest he came at this attempt was a mere 929,800. Apparently, the chaos of Vegas was a little bit distracting to the challenger. Oh well, better luck next time... because you know there will be a next time!
(I'm just surprised Billy Mitchell showed up to the event at all, seeing as how the film makes it seem like he's not interested in face-to-face playoffs.)

Wiebe is the Donkey Kong king as far as I'm concerned. Letting Mitchell use a video tape for his high score was very unprofessional considering how seriously they seemed to take it.
I didn't like the film for it's first half hour then it got good. A very interesting documentary and worth the time to watch it.
Keep in mind the filmakers REALLY twisted events to make it into a real hero/villain piece. As documenters they fail miserably. But as a fictional story it's supposedly darn good.
