Bully 360 Plagued With Issues: Rockstar "Horrified"

As much as I want to be jubilant about Bully on the 360 and it's boy kissing achievement, it's hard to ignore the issues that have been cropping up. On playing that game I noticed some terrible frame rate issues during the opening animation. Later I ran into some glitches, my Xbox froze at one point all the audio dropped out causing me to have to restart the whole system. Seeing as my Xbox is several years old, I was sure this was a sign of impending doom. A quick trip around the interwebs however reveal that I am not the only one experiencing these issues. In fact almost everyone with older Xboxes were having problems! Rockstar has been made aware of the situation and have issued the following statement:
We have just become aware of the issues people are having with Bully Scholarship Edition on Xbox 360. It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA - in any of our offices or at Microsoft. I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention. We love our games and put a huge amount of energy and care into making them all that they can be. We would never shove anything out the door - we never have and never will. We apologise to everyone affected for the inconvenience. Respectfully, Sam Houser
How they are going to handle this situation is yet to be seen, but I imagine discs will have to be sent back and replaced at some point down the road. It does concern me though that this is something that effected mostly older machines. Is this indicative of what we older Xbox owners will see down the road with newer games?

So its only older X-Box's that have problems??
Could it be the older Disk drive??? Thats the only thing that might come to mind as the issue.
My 360 is a uk mid-night release, up until a few weeks ago it went RRoD on me, and was sent back and fixed (they had to replace the motherboard) wonder if this will make any different to playing Bully as its a game I want to get.
Bunny
I replaced my 360 less than six months ago. I can't imagine Microsoft sending me an "older model."
And I have the same problems everyone else has, to a slightly lesser degree.
It's not the system, in my opinion, but the game.
What an odd coincidence...
My boyfriend and I were just discussing the glitches we've encountered while playing Bully on my 360.
I told him I hadn't heard of any difficulties...
I log onto Gaygamer and...blam! There the reports are!
If you've purchased the game on XBOX 360 and are experiencing difficulties, you can call Rockstar at 1-866-405-5464.
A really cute sounding Australian guy will take your name and e-mail address so that they can get in touch with you when they have a solution.
Get the Wii version. It's supposed to be much better.
1up review is up if you want to look at that.
I'm going to get it once I see it for $40 or so.
I've been too freakishly engrossed in Lost Odyssey (I'm also broke) to pick up Bully: Scholarship Edition like I had planned, but still would like to pick it up.
I have one of the near-launch boxes, so I'm less than confident.
As much as I love my 360, I have to say that until the I really don't have much confidence in the Falcon or Opus (Falcon MB for Xenon case) designs. Until we get to the Jasper design later this year with both a 65nm CPU and GPU, people will continue to see issues.
Or, we could all travel forward through time to the year 2010 and pickup the super-efficient Valhalla, with a 65nm GPU and CPU on a single chip. Hopefully at that point it will be easier to keep cool and also QUIETER.
It has been a fun game...so far. The graphics are an improvement over the PS2 version and easily trump the Wii version.
And I have to admit...owning a Wii and Xbox 360...I always go for the 360 games with their achievements.
I continue to beg my boyfriend for permission to unload the Wii...but he's got a nostalgic attachment to the Virtual Console.
Bring back the good old days when a system was released and the hardware stayed (relatively) the same meaning ALL games were compatible and without such issues. Damn you Microsoft!!
Yep the Wii version is working just fine!
I'm running into lag and sounds that stutter and skip.
For anyone who cares I'm currently uploading a video of me getting the Over the Rainbow achievement onto Youtube. Should be up soon...
360 version only has better color saturation then the Wii, the graphics look the same. Changing the settings on the TV actually makes it look the same.
Wii is a great system and I easily own more games for it then my 360.
That said I to am loving Lost Oddesy at the moment.
The Wii is not a 'great system' in regards to the games that are available for it.
Aside from Nintendo's first party titles like 'Super Mario Galaxy,' 'Metroid Prime 3,' et al...the rest of the Wii game section at Best Buy is full of crappy shovelware.
Have to disagree. Not a huge fan of mini games party games or Nintendo first party and I love my Wii.
I think you just played a couple bad games.
Medal of Honor Heroes 2, No More Heroes, Super Swing Golf, Godfather Blackhand edition, One Piece Unlimited Adventure, Ghost Squad, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Dragon Quest Swords, Nights, Trauma Center 1 and 2, Elebits are great.
And the only first party games I have for my Wii is Fire Emblem and Metroid 3.
ooooooooo has anyone tried that reset thing (so technical) like with Bioshock?!?!?
When I first started playing Bioshock the framerate was terrible, but after doing some sort of reset it played perfectly.
Anyone remember how to do it??
