Rumor Confirmed: Silent Hil Origins Coming To PS2

Last week reported on a rumor that Konami was working on porting Silent Hill: Origins to the PS2 from it's original home on the PSP. Well, what do ya know? In a press release sent out this morning the news was confirmed!
Console gamers can now expect the same chilling, suspenseful and fear-filled experience that handheld gamers encountered when we released Silent Hill Origins on the PSP system," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "This is their chance to learn more of the mystery and mythos surrounding Silent Hill that's been hinted at in earlier games and made the series such a success.
If you are a Silent Hill fan without a PSP this will be great news for you! I played SH:O and really enjoyed it. It was great for filling in all those gaps in the Silent Hill story and the new battle system is great with the added ability to use your fists to beat down the various creatures that come your way. No solid release date was announced (although Amazon has it listed as March 4), but we'll keep you posted as more is known.

This shit pisses me off.
Silent Hill is exactly one of those franchises where the people who are into it are REEEEEAAAALLY into it... so they go out and buy a PSP just for the prequel that doesn't seem to have a snowball's chance in hell of being ported... Then a few months later, it gets ported.
//got burned.
I'm not sure where you got that impression, Nate. Many the PSP "eclusive" games are getting/got Wii/Ps2/XBLA ports. R+C:SM, Exit, Crush (this official yet?), GTA, the list goes on.
I'm kinda glad I waited for this. Since I have Silent Hill 2-4 on ps2, not as well have zero there too.
I'm just crabby. Been awake since 4 in the morning (had to work at 6, woo).
I guess I'm sort of out of the loop. Aside from GTA: LCS and VCS, I don't know of many PSP franchise spinoffs that have gotten ports. I know a lot of the games have, like Lumines and Exit, but that's not the same. Oh well.
