Not Playing In San Francisco: Dungeon Siege!

I might have mentioned this before, but some friends of mine pioneered a tradition at my college: Bad Movie Night. The premise was a simple one: the group, huddled around my TV in fascination, would watch -and jeer at- the worst movies we could find. Oh, and we would play customized drinking games with each film. For Doom, we took a shot very time someone died. For Cool As Ice, we took a shot every time Vanilla Ice danced... and appeared on the screen. That movie was bad enough that alcohol was needed to fortify our constitutions enough to watch it. And then there was Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter. I don't think we had a set game for that one, honestly; it was so entertainingly awful that we pretty much drank ourselves silly as quickly as possible.
But Uwe Boll's films earned a special place in our black little hearts, mainly because they were so consistently rotten that we always knew we were in for a good time. House of the Dead? It featured actual game footage spliced into the movie. Alone in the Dark? Tara Reid trying to look smart by wearing glasses. Bloodrayne? Did you see Ben Kingsley's wig? So, naturally, I thought it'd be fun to put together a GayGamer version of Bad Movie Night this Friday with a late screening of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. However, based on my search over at IMDB, it appears that San Francisco hates Uwe Boll movies so much that the film isn't appearing in any of the city's movie theaters. That's right: if you live in Fog Central, you're going to have to attend a screening across the Bay.
If you would like to see Mr. Boll's latest celluloid atrocity and help me engage in a momentous Bad Movie Night, I will be attending the 10 PM showing over at the Century 16 in downtown Pleasant Hill. Anyone who wants to come is welcome, though you might want to bring your own supply of popcorn to throw at the screen.

Normally, that is a DAMN long way to drive to see a movie, especially one by Uwe Boll. However, as luck would have it, I have to be in the East Bay anyway for my dad's 60th birthday the next day. Mayhaps I'll leave early so I can participate.
That movie looks so amazingly bad that I would almost go see it in the theater to make fun of it...preferably under the influence of some sort of substance. But, I think that will be a Netflix bad movie night for me.
Along with Postal...it's on DVD all ready, right?
hmmm...maybe IMDB isnt the most reliable resource. Fandango confirms that it will be showing at the Metreon (for how long...? thats another story...)
As much as I loves me some Jason Statham...this movie looks absolutely terrible.
