CompUSA Will Live On Through TigerDirect

CompUSA has managed to not die out completely. Yesterday, TigerDirect, from whom I have ordered some parts and things to keep my zombie of a PC "up to date," made a deal to buy what is left of the company. Parent company Systemax owns TigerDirect which "operates 11 retail stores in several states and one in Canada; Systemax says that it is currently looking at up to 16 CompUSA locations in Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico, which it says will be integrated into TigerDirect's existing retail environment."
The estimated total of the acquisition is said to be $30 million. However, that excludes costs such as "legal fees, inventory, and other expenses." Can we expect better service, stock and prices at stores that make the transition? Who knows? I've never been inside of a TigerDirect brick and mortar store before, but I cannot expect it to be anything less than a Fry's Electronics minus the gaming goodness.
So, your opinion. Is this a good buy or should it have just been good bye?

We have a Tiger Direct in one of the Suburbs here in Chicago, out by where my lovely boyfriend lives, and I kinda like the place.
They're real stripped down stores that look almost like warhouses, except the shelves are only go up to about 4.5 feet, so you can see the whole store at all times. Everything is broken out real easy to find, and it's usually the most affordable place in the area. Really, everything you could need to keep your PC going or to build your own is at your disposal there.
I can't say much about the staff though. It seemed pretty minimalist, and I have never had real reason to ask for anything, so I can't speak to their knowledge.
I never have been really impressed with my Raleigh TigerDirect store. As stated above, it's very low-key and more like a warehouse, and in my experience everything is always in disorder when I go there. The major benefit is that there are no shipping charges, but many times if I'm willing to wait, I can find a better price on the net.
My roommate told me that he once purchased an item and when he opened it at home, it was empty. Fortunately, the staff recognized the box and let him exchange it.
